Venmo to Integrate PayPal’s ERC-20 Stablecoin PYUSD

Venmo, a peer to peer payment app has exciting plans to incorporate PayPals PYUSD stablecoin in the near future. This integration will make it incredibly convenient for Venmos user base to transfer digital assets seamlessly. As per an announcement by PayPal Venmo users will soon be able to purchase PYUSD and send it not to other Venmo users but also to PayPal accounts and compatible third party wallets.

PayPal is proud to introduce this integration as the ” large scale wallet interoperability without any associated costs” facilitated by a stablecoin. The company emphasizes that transactions between PayPal and Venmo users will be speedy and free showcasing their commitment towards efficient and cost effective digital transactions.

PYUSD was initially launched on August 7 in collaboration with crypto services firm Paxos. It serves as a digital currency backed by assets like U.S. Dollar deposits and short term Treasuries. Moreover on September 11 PayPal introduced a feature enabling conversion of digital currency into U.S. Dollars.

The integration of PYUSD is another step in PayPals strategy to expand its presence in the cryptocurrency market—a market where Venmo itself began allowing crypto purchases in 2021. According to PayPal PYUSD aims to function as a ” regulated stablecoin, on a large scale ” catering to both web3 applications and everyday transactions.

Apart from being accessible on platforms like PayPal and Venmo PYUSD has gained widespread acceptance on various cryptocurrency exchanges. It has quickly found its way onto platforms such as Crypto.com, Bitstamp, Coinbase and Kraken. Additionally trusted wallets like MetaMask, Ledger and Phantom have extended their support to PYUSD. The currency is also available through custodial services and crypto payment providers.

Whats more PYUSD has obtained the approval from the New York State Department of Financial Services. This makes it easier for licensed companies in New York to embrace PYUSD as part of their operations.
