MetaMask, a prominent cryptocurrency wallet software, has expanded its international footprint by establishing vital partnerships in Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Egypt, and Chile, as announced in a Dec. 8 post on X. The announcement details MetaMask’s collaboration with various local partners like VietQR and Mobile Money in Vietnam, GCash in the Philippines, QRIS in Indonesia, Thai QR in Thailand, Vodafone Cash in Egypt, and Webpay in Chile, enhancing user experience with localized solutions. Furthermore, MetaMask has broadened its services to Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, and South Korea, offering additional local transfer support through strategic partnerships with Unlimit and TransFi, a borderless payment solution. The Buy aggregator feature is now available on different MetaMask platforms, including the mobile app, browser extension, and directly within the MetaMask Portfolio.
In parallel to its expansion, MetaMask recently addressed transaction issues encountered by mobile users on version 7.9.0. After rectifying the bug on Nov. 15, MetaMask advised users to update their apps to the latest version, 7.10.0, as a safety measure. The wallet provider noted that the issue with the previous version affected a small group of users, as mentioned in a Nov. 14 post.
