Co-founder of Solana Labs Stephen Akridge is facing legal action from his ex-wife Elisa Rossi, who claims that during their divorce processes, he concealed “millions of dollars” in bitcoin staking payments. The lawsuit, which was filed in a San Francisco court, alleges that even though Akridge gave Rossi wallet ownership as part of their divorce settlement, he still maintained control of sizable Solana (SOL) staking payments.
According to court documents, the agreement included Rossi being given control of three Solana wallets in March. She charges Akridge, however, with abusing his knowledge of blockchain technology to reroute staking rewards to wallets that are under his authority. Rossi claims that two months after the divorce was finalized, she learned of the stolen assets.
In the lawsuit, Rossi states that Akridge dismissed her inquiries and taunted her, reportedly saying, “Good luck getting those staking rewards from me.” She is seeking damages for unjust enrichment, fraud, and contract violations.
In addition to statutory exemplary damages and interest, Rossi is requesting actual and punitive damages as payment. At trial, the court is supposed to decide how much damage was caused.
