The Shiba Inu (SHIB) team has recently raised an alarm regarding an increase in scam activities, coinciding with the launch of their latest SHEboshi token.
In a communication dated Feb. 24 on platform X, Shiba Inu’s marketing leader, Lucie, voiced concerns for SHIB stakeholders, highlighting the misleading strategies used by scammers.
She pointed out that following the successful roll-out of SHEboshi, which combines the advantages of ERC-20 and ERC-721 tokens under the DN404 standard, investors have become the prime targets of fake giveaways.
Lucie emphasized that Shiba Inu is not conducting any giveaways and warned that any claims suggesting otherwise are scams. She advised investors to verify any promotional claims through Shiba Inu’s official channels on Telegram and Discord.
She also shared tips to help the community stay alert and protect their assets by following verified news sources.
A scam operation, presenting itself as ‘@thesheboshis’, has been identified for trying to deceive the Shiba Inu community by falsely claiming an association with the SHIB-endorsed Sheboshis initiative.
On Feb. 22, the Shibarmy’s scam alert team highlighted the dangers of interacting with this fraudulent project, which poses phishing risks.
Lucie stressed the necessity of careful investigation in the cryptocurrency environment, noting that scams could lead to substantial financial losses.
She urged SHIB enthusiasts and users to conduct thorough research before connecting their wallets to unfamiliar platforms.
This caution is deemed particularly crucial for those drawn to the novelty of ventures like Sheboshis, which saw its second batch sell out swiftly.
The community is encouraged to be vigilant against fake giveaway schemes, a prevalent scam approach, and to report any dubious activities to safeguard the Shiba Inu ecosystem.
