Binance’s Financial Crime Compliance Unit has been recognized by the Royal Thai Police’s Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) for its pivotal role in combating crypto-related crime. This award, presented during the fifteenth anniversary of the CIB’s Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD), acknowledges Binance’s critical contributions to bolstering the security of Thailand’s digital-asset ecosystem.

Strengthening Security Through Key Partnerships

Binance has worked closely with Thai law enforcement agencies, notably supporting the Anti-Online Scam Operation Centre (AOC), which was established to tackle the growing number of online scams targeting Thai citizens. Binance has provided vital analytical insights and investigative support, aiding the agency’s efforts in dismantling transnational criminal networks.

A notable collaboration involved Binance’s assistance in a major operation that led to arrests across 30 sites, involving over 200 officers, to take down a transnational criminal organization. In another case, Binance’s team supported investigations leading to the takedown of illegal computer networks linked to scam centers abroad.

The Importance of Public-Private Cooperation

This recognition highlights the significant role of public-private partnerships in ensuring the security and integrity of digital assets. Akbar A., Binance’s Head of Investigations for APAC, expressed gratitude, stating, “We are deeply honored to receive this award. It underscores our ongoing commitment to fighting cybercrime and safeguarding the community.”

Col. Amornchai Leelakajonjit from the TCSD praised Binance’s proactive support, noting its “invaluable” contribution to their operations. He added that this collaboration has significantly advanced their mission to combat crypto scams and expressed optimism for continued partnership.

Commitment to Global Security Standards

As part of its broader commitment to enhancing security in the crypto space, Binance launched the Global Law Enforcement Training Program in 2022. This initiative aims to equip law enforcement agencies worldwide with the tools and knowledge to fight financial and cybercrimes related to digital assets. Since its inception, the program has delivered nearly 200 training courses, including several in Thailand.

Binance’s collaboration with the Royal Thai Police marks another significant milestone in the company’s efforts to enhance global crypto security, demonstrating that cross-sector partnerships are key to safeguarding the future of digital assets.
