MetaMask, a provider of cryptocurrency wallets, has joined forces with PayPal in the United States to enable users to purchase Ethereum (ETH). According to the company, this integration makes it the first web3 wallet to offer such transactions via PayPal, providing a smooth buying experience. U.S. customers can now choose PayPal as their payment method while purchasing ETH with MetaMask and transfer the funds from PayPal to MetaMask. The feature is available on the browser extension, mobile app, or MetaMask Portfolio by clicking on “BUY.” The partnership allows users to add ETH to their wallet through PayPal balance, linked bank accounts, or debit cards. It is essential to note that this feature is not observed in Hawaii.
This collaboration came after the recent launch of the “Buy Crypto” feature, allowing users to purchase over 90 tokens on eight different networks with various payment methods, including debit or credit cards, bank transfers, PayPal, and instant ACH. Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, BNB Smart Chain, Avalanche Contract Chain, Fantom, Optimis, and Celo are among the eight different networks.
The partnership aims to offer a seamless process for users to buy cryptocurrencies and pave the way for mainstream adoption. Enabling users to buy ETH with PayPal makes it more accessible for people to explore the web3 ecosystem and encourage the use of cryptocurrencies.
