China Mobile Hong Kong Launches LinkNFT
By Published On: 16/12/2023

China Mobile Hong Kong, a prominent mobile communication brand in Hong Kong, is set to introduce its very own NFT marketplace, known as LinkNFT. This marks the first NFT marketplace operated by a telecommunications company in Hong Kong. This launch coincides with the success of their comprehensive smart living mobile application, MyLink, which has garnered an impressive user base of over seven million.

LinkNFT will provide NFT minting services for businesses, streamlining the creation, trading, and circulation of digital assets across various contexts, including SocialFi, DeFi, and GameFi. To ensure seamless web3 interoperability, it will utilize a combination of cross-chain standards: the web3 Center cross-chain service protocol, cross-chain adapter, and cross-chain smart contract. Hong Kong residents will be able to conveniently access their digital assets, including Ethereum-based ones like Opensea, through the exclusive digital wallet “LinKey” within MyLink.

China Mobile Hong Kong (CMHK) has partnered with various sectors to release over 30 NFTs on LinkNFT. These include 20 commemorative editions from the MyLink ArLink series and 15 NFTs linked to publishers and music platforms like Migu Music. The total number of NFTs expected to be issued is more than 500,000.

Furthermore, MyLink’s Metaverse digital space has undergone a comprehensive upgrade to offer a 3D immersive experience, allowing Hong Kong citizens to create their digital homes and explore a virtual Hong Kong city complete with amenities such as shopping malls and exhibition halls. This enhancement enables citizens to convert their Meta IDs into NFTs, fostering a distinct digital community within the web3 ecosystem.

Mr. Tan Hui, Executive Director of MyLink, believes that this new venture will enable enterprises to provide innovative consumer opportunities through various NFTs, while users can enjoy the collectible and circulation value they offer.
