Hsiao-Wei Wang and Tomasz Stańczak have been named co-directors of the Ethereum Foundation, which has formally declared a change in leadership. The action comes after months of community concerns about the strategic direction of the project.

Stańczak, the CEO of Nethermind, and Wang, a key researcher who has worked for the Ethereum Foundation for seven years, combine extensive technical knowledge with leadership experience. The statement from March 1 states that they would start their new positions on March 17.

Due to market uncertainty, Ethereum faces difficulties.
The shift in leadership occurs at a critical juncture for Ethereum. Concerns about Layer-2 solutions consuming Ethereum’s core network are growing as Ether (ETH) tries to recover from previous market highs. High-throughput blockchain competition is also putting pressure on investor trust.

Vitalik Buterin, a co-founder of Ethereum, previously laid out a plan to fortify the network in a blog post on January 23. He suggested pushing Layer-2 solutions to split fees with the base layer and raising blob counts to increase transaction capacity.

The Ethereum Foundation further demonstrated its financial stability by investing 45,000 ETH (worth about $120 million on February 13) in Aave, Compound, and Spark in order to generate income. This shows that they have other revenue streams without selling ETH.

Marketing Efforts Gain Momentum and Etherealize
The Ethereum Foundation has increased its marketing and social media presence in an effort to increase Ethereum’s institutional appeal. The goal of the newly created Etherealize project, which is headed by seasoned Ethereum developers Vivek Raman and Danny Ryan, is to draw in institutional investors.

To improve Ethereum’s online presence and worldwide reach, the Foundation has also been actively seeking a social media manager.

The Ethereum Foundation is putting itself in a position for long-term success by addressing issues with technical scalability and market perception through these strategic and structural changes.
