Coinbase Unveils Unified On-Chain Wallet App

Coinbase has launched a new wallet feature as part of its “super app” strategy to streamline the cryptocurrency user experience.

Coinbase’s latest innovation, the “Coinbase Wallet web app,” offers comprehensive portfolio management across multiple wallets on various decentralized networks. This on-chain tool provides users with a centralized platform for tracking assets, executing token swaps, and sending funds, enhancing convenience and accessibility.

Accessible via desktops and mobile phones, the platform supports eight networks, including Base and Solana (SOL).

Coinbase Unified App Aims to Boost Adoption

Despite the global growth of cryptocurrencies, wallet management remains a barrier to widespread adoption. Even seasoned industry professionals have faced challenges navigating different crypto wallets and interacting with diverse assets across multiple chains.

Coinbase’s unified solution addresses these issues, potentially easing concerns for both new and existing users. Sid Coelho-Prabhu, Senior Director of Product Management at Coinbase Wallet, emphasized that the new app eliminates the need for multiple wallet installations, replaces cumbersome 12-word recovery phrases with a passkey, offers gasless transactions on Base, and simplifies network navigation. This streamlined approach is expected to attract developers and users to Web3.
