Coca Cola partners with Solana-based NFT marketplace SolSea

SolSea, a platform for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) built on the Solana blockchain, announced its collaboration with Coca-Cola Srbija, the Serbian division of Coca-Cola, on July 5th.

The partnership between SolSea and Coca-Cola Srbija entails the availability of merchandise alongside non-fungible tokens (NFTs) branded with Coca-Cola Serbia.

Both companies have joined forces with EXIT Festival, an annual summer music festival held in Novi Sad, Serbia, during the first week of July. As part of this collaboration, they are offering NFTs and merchandise aligned with the festival, which will be taking place from July 6th to July 9th in 2023.

Coca-Cola’s involvement in the world of NFTs extends beyond its partnership with SolSea and its Serbian division. In July 2021, Coca-Cola participated in an auction where four charity NFTs were sold to commemorate International Friendship Day. These NFTs were based on the Ethereum (ETH) blockchain and can be found on platforms like OpenSea. Additionally, in 2022, Coca-Cola conducted a second round of charity NFT sales on the Polygon (MATIC) blockchain to mark the same occasion.

Furthermore, in 2022, Coca-Cola released Pride Month NFTs for charity purposes, and its Middle East division collaborated with Crypto.com to offer FIFA World Cup Qatar-themed NFTs.

Notably, other renowned brands such as Marvel, Starbucks, and Porsche have also begun exploring the world of NFTs. While some critics view corporate involvement in NFTs as mere “cash grabs,” it’s important to note that certain sales contribute to charitable causes and provide opportunities for crypto artists and creators.
