Bitget Sponsors LALIGA, Featuring Lewandowski, Mbappé, and Vinícius Jr.

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has entered a major partnership with Spain’s premier football competition, LALIGA, becoming its official crypto partner for the Eastern, Southeast Asian, and Latin American regions. The collaboration, announced at the Token2049 event in Singapore, marks Bitget’s strategic expansion into the sports sector across emerging markets.

Bitget Secures LALIGA Crypto Partnership

The multi-million dollar deal provides Bitget with extensive visibility across LALIGA’s vast global fanbase, while LALIGA will benefit from Web3 solutions aimed at enhancing fan engagement and technological integration. This partnership aligns with Bitget’s “Make It Count” philosophy, which emphasizes the pursuit of excellence through dedication and passion.

LALIGA, home to football stars such as Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Jr., and Robert Lewandowski, has long been a leader in sports innovation, employing advanced technologies like AI, VR, and Big Data to improve game strategies and performance analytics.

Javier Tebas on LALIGA’s Commitment to Innovation

Javier Tebas, President of LALIGA, highlighted the league’s focus on technological progress: “Over the last decade, digitalization and innovation have been among LALIGA’s priorities. Last season, we emphasized this through our New Era, which focused on technology. We aim to be pioneers and remain committed to that goal.”

The announcement coincides with Bitget celebrating its sixth anniversary, during which the exchange achieved a user base of 45 million globally, a significant increase from 15 million just a year ago. Bitget has also cemented its position among the top four cryptocurrency exchanges by trading volume. Additionally, its Bigget Wallet app surpassed 12 million users, with integrations including Google Pay and Apple Pay.

Gracy Chen on the Significance of the Partnership

Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration: “Partnering with LALIGA allows us to drive the adoption of crypto in sports, offering new opportunities for fans and athletes. This collaboration will enhance the experience for over a billion people and pave the way for broader Web3 adoption in emerging markets.”

Bitget’s Growing Presence in Sports

Bitget’s partnership with LALIGA builds on the platform’s growing presence in the sports world. In 2022, Bitget made headlines by announcing soccer legend Lionel Messi as a brand ambassador, further amplifying its brand recognition through sports partnerships

Continuing its expansion in 2023, Bitget extended its Make It Count campaign by teaming up with Turkish athletes, including wrestler Buse Tosun Çavuşoğlu, boxer Samet Gümüş, and volleyball player İlkin Aydın. Originally spearheaded by Messi, the campaign aims to engage and empower Bitget’s Turkish user base, reflecting the exchange’s ongoing commitment to sports-centered promotional strategies.
