AntPool, associated with Bitmain, has surpassed Foundry USA as the top Bitcoin mining pool for the first time since January 2022. This milestone, based on the total monthly blocks mined, marks a significant development since January 2022, coinciding with the aggressive rollout of Bitmain’s latest mining hardware. Recent Bitcoin network data reveals that in November, Antpool mined 1,219 blocks, slightly more than Foundry USA’s 1,216 blocks. Antpool’s efforts have generated significant returns, accumulating 8,672 BTC for its clients and setting aside an additional 83.6 BTC for reimbursements.
Previously, Foundry USA had maintained its position as the foremost mining pool since early 2022, bolstered by the increase in North American mining following China’s strict industry regulations in 2021. However, AntPool has been progressively narrowing the gap with Foundry USA, particularly from mid-2022 onwards. This increase in AntPool’s mining capacity corresponds with Bitmain’s dispatch of a considerable number of Antminer S19XP and S19XP Hydro units to its subsidiary in Georgia, USA.
From June to November, over 4,800 metric tons of these mining rigs were transferred, as per TheMinerMag’s report. The total hashrate from these imports is estimated to exceed 37 EH/s, significantly enhancing AntPool’s mining output.
