GDAC, a crypto exchange based in South Korea, has experienced a hack resulting in the theft of approximately $13.9 million worth of cryptocurrency. In response to the attack, the exchange has halted all deposits and withdrawals and is currently performing emergency server maintenance, according to an announcement made by GDAC CEO Han Seunghwan on April 10th. The attacker was able to gain control of some of the exchange’s hot wallets on April 9th and began moving crypto into wallets under their control at 7 a.m. Korean Standard Time. The stolen assets included 61 Bitcoin (BTC), 350.5 Ether (ETH), 10 million of the WEMIX gaming currency, and $220,000 worth of Tether (USDT).
