The CEO of News Corp Australia, Michael Miller, has proposed that those responsible for developing artificial intelligence (AI) powered applications should bear the cost of using news and content to enhance their products. Miller argues that “creators of original journalism and content” should not repeat the errors of the past, which he claims led to the destruction of their industries and allowed technology companies to profit from their stories and information without any payment. This proposal was made by Miller in an editorial published on April 2nd in The Australian.
