The Consumer Affairs Agency of Japan (CAA), which is engaged in consumer protection, said that the number of requests related to cryptocurrency has increased.
The CAA report says that in the last fiscal year, the agency received 3,657 requests for cryptocurrency, which is about 70% higher than in the previous year.
Most of the questions are related to the reliability of crypto exchanges, security, anonymity problems, as well as technical difficulties associated with processing payments.
The CAA report was published after the National Tax Agency of Japan announced that it intends to take action against organizations that underestimate their cryptocurrency revenues. The agency has attracted about 200 specialists in order to identify revenues associated with the cryptocurrency trade.
Recall that Japan became the first country to legitimize bitcoin as a means of payment back in 2017.
