GMO Internet has released a client for Zcash mining on GPU

-

Japanese company GMO Internet has released a Cryptknocker client for Zcash mining based on the Equihash algorithm on graphics processors. At the same time, the company specified that they were creating software for the characteristics of NVIDIA processors of the GeForce series 8 or later and for operating the OS starting from Windows 7, Linux CentOS 6/7 or Ubuntu 14.04 / 16.04.

GMO Internet claims that Zcash achieved a 2% increase in efficiency compared to other mining software. The client will be distributed free of charge, however, 2% of the profit generated from the mining of altcoin will go to the developers.

Recall that in August GMO Internet revised its business priorities towards the production of mining equipment, and before that announced the release of a new more powerful bitcoin miner model on 7-nm ASIC-B3. Earlier, the Chinese maker of mining equipment Bitmain introduced the Antminer Z9 mini miner, intended for mining of cryptocurrency on the algorithm of Equihash, in particular, Zcash. In response, the Zcash Foundation stated that they will support ASIC-resistance as an “urgent technical priority”.
