American financial holding company JP Morgan Chase has appointed the head of its London fin-tech department, 29-year-old Oliver Harris as head of the strategy in the field of cryptocurrency assets.
Harris’ boss will be Umar Farooq, who is responsible for the bank’s blockchain initiatives. In addition, Harris will also lead the work on the project Quorum – the own blockchain platform JP Morgan.
Over the past two years, Harris has directed the JP Morgan program “In Residence”, which has been looking for promising start-up fin-tech companies for further cooperation.
According to the information received, Harris will be engaged in the creation and promotion of his own cryptocurrency products of the bank, intended, for example, to store digital currencies.
